NewsFranz Ferdinand for next year's Jersey Live?Franz Ferdinand are in the running to headline next summer's Jersey Live festival, NME.COM has learnt. Warren Le Sueur, Event Director of the Jersey Live festival which took place last weekend (September 1 and 2) has told us that he is currently in negotiations with the band. "Nothing's been signed yet, but I'm hoping to get Franz to headline's next year's event," he told us. "We're talking about it over the coming weeks." Le Sueur also revealed that The View had been in the running to play at this year's bash, but the deal fell through. Audio Bullys stepped in to fill the slot before Kasabian's headline slot last night (September 2), after their manager contacted Le Sueur. There were 9,040 tickets sold for this year's event, which had a maximum capacity of 10,000. The festival had a comparatively huge police presence and there were 11 arrests in total over the two days. One of the arrests was for stealing a car from the site and using it to drive into the nearby town. New Senior VP For Warner/Chappell, Atlantic Christopher Hicks at Warner/Chappell Music will have a word added to his title. Formerly vice president of Urban A&R, it was announced today that he will become senior vice president of Urban A&R for Warner/Chappell as well as for Warner's Atlantic imprint. Blige and T.I., will debut a new label, Beatfactory, under Atlantic's guidance. He will also continue to oversee Noontime, the publishing company he started in 1997 whose writers are credited with more than 25 top-10 spots over the past three years in the Billboard Hot 100 and Hip-Hop/R&B charts. |
